(i) financing the transition to sustainable energy;
(ii) carbon trading;
(iii) innovations in financing environmental and social sustainability; en
(iv) sustainable investment
FINANCING SUSTAINABILITY – Insights for Investors, Corporate Executives, and Policymakers
Finance plays a pivotal role in accelerating the transition towards sustainable economies, societies, and business practices. At the same time, financing sustainability provides interesting investment opportunities. That’s the firm statement of a new book just released, Financing Sustainability.Based on insights from over 330 studies, this new book explores the opportunities and challenges related to financing sustainability.
For example, it describes how policymakers can stimulate private sector investments in sustainable energy through consistent energy policies. It also explains the business case for integrating sustainability factors into investment-decisions. In addition, this book glances into the future by highlighting innovative financial instruments, such as index-linked carbon bonds, that may further spur sustainable development.
This book was commissioned by Holland Financial Centre and is a co-production between Duisenberg school of finance and SEO Economic Research.
