Geslaagde 3e editie Holland Finance House tijdens GAIM 2012 in Monaco
Ook dit jaar hebben diverse beleggers, accountants en juristen Nederland als hét land voor alternatieve beleggingsfondsen gepromoot. Dit vond plaats tijdens de GAIM 2012 conferentie. Holland Financial Centre (HFC) stond voor het derde jaar op rij op het GAIM-congres met het Holland Finance House. Vorig jaar leverde dat onder andere de komst van twee partijen naar Nederland op. Ook dit jaar zouden opnieuw tenminste twee hedgefondsmanagers van plan zijn zich in Nederland te vestigen, aldus aanwezige consultants. Daarnaast hebben Nederlandse hedge funds waardevolle contacten gelegd met buitenlandse investeerders.
De GAIM-conferentie, gehouden in Monaco, is het grootste en langstlopende hedge fund evenement in Europa. Het is een belangrijke bijeenkomst en netwerkforum voor zowel hedge fund investeerders als hedge fund managers. Het oranjegekleurde ‘Holland Finance House’ was van 18 tot en met 20 juni prominent aanwezig, waar maar liefst 15 partijen Nederland vertegenwoordigden. Meer dan 250 investeerders die actief zijn in de alternative investments en meer dan 400 internationale hedge fund managers hebben dit jaar het evenement bijgewoond.
Nederland heeft altijd al een sterke reputatie als centrum voor het beheer van beleggingsfondsen. Deze reputatie is gebaseerd op een gunstig juridisch, fiscaal en regelgevend kader voor alternatieve beleggingen. Daarnaast is er de goede reputatie voor een sterk ontwikkelde infrastructuur, uitstekende connectiviteit en een meertalige hoog opgeleide beroepsbevolking. Volgens de Financial Times, is Amsterdam binnen de Eurozone een reëel alternatief voor Londen, onder andere als gevolg van de omvang van de Nederlandse pensioenfondsen. Nederland staat momenteel in de wereldwijde top 5 van belangrijke hedge fund landen.
